This rack is perfect! Sturdy and very easy to put together. Got the idea for a mini mud room from Better Homes and Gardens magazine article. LOVE IT!

I bought two of these racks to bake a walk-in closet out of a bedroom I wasn't using. They are as sturdy as you can get from racking that doesn't look too out of place in living quarters. If you are short on space they may be a bit wide for you as they take up more space in real usage than the product shots represent. The casters allow them to move but these racks are better though of as fixed in place when loaded rather than a moveable cart. It can fit through a doorway if the hangers are removed or laid down on on the lower shelf. Fully loaded they are top-heavy because a good deal of the weight will be suspended on the garment bars high from the ground, and loads from a height at parallel fulcrums oscillate together. Over time this loosens the clips in the shelving hardware so keep a hammer ready if you plan on moving it back and forth a lot. The friction of your flooring is a consideration so if you have carpets or tend to drop garments be careful moving it. If you have kids or large pets, consider a built-in solution. Putting something heavy on the bottom shelf helps with stability, but the majority of the weight will be hanging (and swaying) from the rods. If you exclusively store smaller items like shirts and folded pants and don't mind giving up the affordance you might want to lower the garment bars a bit for stability. If you buy two racks you can also join them into a triangle by sharing one support bar between two racks and having the two inner garment bars connecting the two carts on the opposing side (one of them low for structural support). This gives you three hanging bars instead of four but in a much more compact footprint, but also with a wider base of support and non-parallel oscillating fulcrums. The modularity makes this cart gives it additional value since it can be repurposed into generic storage racks when your needs change.

Not exactly a conventional usage for this product, but I'd been eyeing this unit for use as a harness rack for our barn. Today (after reading many reviews) I finally pulled the trigger and tried it out. I couldn't be happier. Right now it's holding a set of team harnesses on the hanging rods, neck collars on the swing out hangers, a single horse harness rigged on the end and another nylon harness in a bag hanging on the other end. If you know anything about harnesses, they are NOT light. But this rack can still roll with ease and is even stable with one or more of the harnesses removed. I'm thrilled as can be. I'm currently wondering if I can buy a couple of more and turn them into a blanket rack and a set of shelves... :D

I've tried several garment racks and this one really works well. I purchased 2 initially and then went back for more. This rack is easy to assemble, attractive and durable. I live in a home that has very little closet space so I turned one room into a closet. I filled the room with these racks which allow for all of my items to be stored. Coats, blouses, pants, skirts, dresses, hats and shoes. (top & bottom shelves). I was able to hang at least 50 items on each side. I highly recommend these racks!

First I'd like to thank some of the other reviewers for giving more detailed information than the manufacturer. If not for those other reviews I would not have purchased this rack. The rack is fairly easy to put together however it's a two-person job. I didn't follow the order or sequence given in the instructions. The instructions tell you to put the wheels on last, when the rack is completely assembled. My mom was helping me and said, No, put them on now, after step 2. Glad I listened. Something I didn't think about when I was measuring the area where the rack would go was how much the hangers with stick out. So when calculating the depth of your space, you may want to add at least 6 inches to that because it takes up more floor space than you think. Also, you may not want to attach the swing arms the way they are pictured in the instructions. Depending on the space it may be better to put them both in the front for better access. I love this rack! It looks better and is sturdier than racks that cost nearly twice as much.

1. I can't tell you in pounds but mine is full with shirts hung on both sides and about 10 pair of pants on each one of the small racks plus the shelves on top and bottom are very sturdy.

2. So far, I have about 30 pieces of shirts and blouses, 20 knit sweaters 7 winter coats, two storage boxes of tshirts and jeans and some random stragglers of clothing on the rack and I am still able to move it without an effort. Hope this helped.

3. I saw it today at the store. The box at the store says holds 200 pounds. I am getting one tomorrow. I was just looking around in diferent places. This was the best I saw.

4. Well, I weigh 120lbs and I had to hang on the rack to make sure the pieces were snugly fitting together b/c I do not have a rubber mallet. It held my weight no problem the same as other reviewers commented. The quality of this rack is exceptional and very sturdy. I am contemplating buying another due to the quality. I have purchased other lesser quality racks over the years and they did not hold up. I expect to have this for a long, long time!

2. The box is not that big at all! It does not come assembled so it all fits nicely into a small box that could have fit in my front seat. Nothing to worry about, and the instructions are easy.

3. Yes, because the product itself is around 75" long.
